I HAD recently begun my road of conversion, and my family was facing a difficult situation. During this time of struggle, I asked God the Father with all my heart to help me overcome these trials.
God, the Father, answered my prayer. Suddenly, everything around me went white, and I could see the Father sitting on His throne. The vision was particularly strange since I could also see and feel my body still praying in my house. I then saw the Father look at me and lean towards me while reaching out his hand to place it over me.
At that moment, my reaction was to scream, “PLEASE NO!”. The Father immediately stopped and asked me, “Why not?”. I then answered from the bottom of my heart, “I’m not worthy.” To which He replied, “You need it” and proceeded to wait. It was then that I understood the great gentleness of God and His respect for our will.
At that moment, I also realized that it was I who was preventing Him from blessing me and that through it, I was also resisting His will to answer my prayer. When I realized this, I thanked Him for His mercy and submitted to His will by bowing my head before Him. The Father then proceeded to place His hand over me to give me His protection. Up until then, the Father had seemed like a giant towering over me. However, when He placed His hand over me, I felt like a grain of sand under it and felt that His hand was infinite. This change of perception of His magnitude surprised me and humbled me to see How gentle He is, despite being infinite, all-powerful, and all-knowing.
A Personal Relationship with God the Father
I can still feel God the Father’s hand over me when I reach out to Him in prayer. It comforts me to remember this vision under challenging times. Also, knowing that He hears me encourages me to pray to the Father. When I do this, I like to project myself before Him and kneel while I bring Him my prayers. I especially love to do this when I say grace before a meal and feel His blessing.
This experience is also why I can testify that the Holy Trinity is true. I have experienced the Holy Spirit and met God the Father, as well as Jesus. Not because I was particularly holy, but rather because of His mercy towards me. Because of His kindness, He granted me the graces I required to overcome these difficulties as well as to heal my broken heart and strengthen my relationship with Him.
Anyone can have this type of relationship and experiences if they so want; all you need to do is ask Him and trust that He will answer your innermost desires and needs.
