THE LORD blessed me with several experiences with Jesus Christ, God the Son, our Lord, and Savior. Most of these have been during eucharistic adoration and a few times during Mass. Following are some of my experiences with Jesus Christ, which I hope will strengthen your faith as you walk your own Road.
Jesus’ presence in the Eucharist
In my case, the Catholic practice of eucharistic adoration is a clear example of the saying, “You can’t love what you don’t know or understand.”
It was confusing for me the first time I attended a charismatic mass with eucharistic adoration. My biggest surprise was seeing some people fall when the priest passed around the congregation while holding up the Eucharist. I had never seen eucharistic adoration, and from my recently converted semi-protestant background, it looked a lot like some weird type of idol worship. However, seeing this inspired my curiosity, so I looked up why the Church allowed it:
Catholics believe that when Jesus said in the last supper, “This is my body and my blood,” He meant it literally. We also believe that as God, He has the power to transform the offering of bread and wine into His body and blood. Therefore Catholics believe that a consecrated Eucharist is physically God’s body and contains His Spirit. By implication, the Eucharist emanates His life. In a similar fashion to how it would come out of a Christian, only purer.
Experiences with Jesus in the Eucharist
The first time I saw Jesus was during Mass, while the priest held up the Eucharist for consecration. There I saw above it a light that took the form of the cross and a dove. The shape changed continuously from one to the other so fast that I could barely make out the different shapes. After this experience, I understood that the Trinity was in the Eucharist and began participating whenever possible in the weekly eucharistic adoration done in my local Parrish.
During some of the adoration sessions, I began to see Jesus come out from the Eucharist as light with a human form. He would then walk among the congregation, blessing each person individually. I wondered if these visions were real. However, I began noticing that whenever Jesus touched someone on the forehead, they would break out crying. I do not think they saw Jesus, only felt His blessing and were overwhelmed by His life.
During one of these experiences, as Jesus was blessing people around me, He turned around and looked at me and said: “Kneel.” However, just like with my experience with God the Father, I was hesitant and feeling unworthy, so I asked Him to wait and only bless me. He complied with my request and proceeded to bless me.
After this experience, I saw him a few more times in the adoration sessions. Where He would come and sit next to me and begin speaking to my soul. It was a strange feeling since I knew that He was talking to me, but I could not understand what was said. Instead of hearing, I could feel comfort and peace as He spoke to my soul. I believe that during these experiences with Jesus, He instructed my soul on things I needed to do.
A knighting during Mass
A few months later, and I once again saw Jesus during Mass. As I was praying, I suddenly saw Him appear before me with a massive sword in his hands and asked me to kneel. I felt unworthy being in His presence and fearful of the implications of what He was asking of me. I also felt uncertain of why He had such a large sword in His hands. So once again asked Him to wait and to bless me instead.
Some more months passed, and Jesus once again appeared before me during Mass, holding a huge sword and asking me to kneel. I still felt fearful and unworthy. However, I suddenly felt the Virgin sitting next to me. Where she began to hug me and kiss me on the cheek, she then said to me: “You don’t know how good you are or how good you can be.”
These words brought tears to my eyes. Realizing I was fearful due to a deep feeling of shame and unworthiness. I could sense how imperfect and impure I was when standing before the Lord, which is why I told Mary that it wasn’t right, that I wasn’t good, and that I could feel how impure I was. In answer to this, Mary just kept giving me kisses on my cheek like a mother to a small child.
Then, my angel spoke behind me, saying: “It is not about what you want; it is about doing His will.” I suddenly understood that, like with God the Father, I was refusing to obey the Lord’s will. Who only wanted to bless me in a new manner. I then kneeled and bowed my head, surrendering myself to His will.
Jesus then proceeded to place His sword on my shoulders and said, “It is time for you to rise and begin to fight, your fate has been determined.” After this, I thanked Him. Although still unsure about what had just happened or what it meant. Meanwhile, Mary continued to hug and kiss me on the cheek. The vision then began to fade, and I continued to participate in the Mass.
Sharing a Gift
After this, I stopped seeing Jesus in visions, only feeling Him more than seeing Him. These experiences are a gift from Jesus so that I could believe and advance in my faith. I usually don’t like sharing them because people tend to think they make me somehow unique. But I know that I’m not unique. These experiences, all they mean is that I had a harder heart than most persons. My wish is that I had been able to believe and trust Him only by the teachings of the Church. I am a doubting Thomas. I know full well in my heart that those who believe without seeing are more blessed than I.
The only reason I am sharing my experiences with Jesus in this post is that they are a gift. As such, like all His gifts, they must be shared with others. I hope that they help others to believe or reaffirm their faith. I also do it since, like all memories, they tend to fade. Sharing my experiences is a way to remind myself of His blessings in my life. Helping me to reaffirm my love for Him, knowing that He has loved me despite my sins and has blessed me not because of my merits but because of His infinite love.
I hope that these experiences help you on your Road to Righteousness. If you are in doubt of God, His existence, His love, or the revelation of the Trinity, ask for Him to show you. Based on my experiences with Jesus, I can affirm that if you genuinely want Him in your life. God will give you everything you need to come to know and love Him personally. Whether it is supernatural or not, He will do whatever it takes.
God Bless
