A valuable resource to complement your Lectio Divina exercises is to leverage the readings of the Liturgical Calendar of the Catholic Church as the basis for your Lectio Divina Readings. The Catholic Church has outlined for the year the scriptures for reading for any given day. These are usually the ones read at mass during that same day but can also be used for personal reading and prayer.
Frequent reading of Scripture will allow a person to begin genuinely knowing God. As well as guiding a person to make the changes, God is inspiring them to undertake to improve their lives.
It is important to note: reading Scripture is NOT about how much you read every day. Reading the bible slowly and carrying out what it says will be profoundly more beneficial than learning it by memory, and still living the same lifestyle you had when you began.
